Manuscript Critique

Editorial Letter

A manuscript critique is a big-picture assessment of your manuscript and is a recommended first step. After our editor reads your manuscript, you'll receive 8 to 10 pages of editorial feedback that addresses your book’s strengths and weaknesses, structure and organization, character and setting, narrative pacing, and more. You’ll also get a chance to discuss the feedback with your editor. A critique is vital if you are seeking an expert opinion on your work, suggestions on what to revise, and guidance on next steps.

what we'll address:

  • the hook

  • plot and structure

  • length and narrative pacing

  • character or content development

  • setting and world-building

  • writing mechanics

what’s included:

  • a full read-through of your manuscript

  • 8 to 10 pages of editorial feedback and suggestions for revision

  • one hour of follow-up support from your editor via email, phone, or Zoom
